So I guess a few weeks ago when Burton was "practicing" their 2 point conversions against Gate City for the playoffs it didn't work?

Because they have no kicking game. Plus they are getting prepared for 2 point coversions in the playoffs if need be.

THE POINT IS PRACTICE YOUR KICKING GAME AND KICK THE
DAG GUM EXTRA POINT!

DOESN'T MATTER IF THE BALL IS AT THE 3 OR THE 18.
MOST KICKERS IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT CAN KICK AN EXTRA POINT FROM 20 YARDS OUT, SHOULD BE ABLE TO KICK ONE FROM 35 YARDS.

AGAIN THE POINT IS ... WORK ON YOUR KICKING GAME A LITTLE BIT AND DON'T RUN THE SCORE UP PRACTICING THE 2PT. CONVERSION.

AN EXTRA POINT WOULD HAVE TIED IT UP.

No not all kickers who can kick an extra point can kick a 35 yard field goal. Way to bring up old news on trying to run the score up, I think it is hilarious that people think if you go for a two point conversion instead of an extra point you are running to score up, get a life, its a 1 point difference. IF YOUR TEAM IS ON THE LOSING SIDE AND YOUR DOWN BY 21 OR MORE WHAT WOULD YOU THINK IF THE OTHER TEAM LINED UP AND WENT FOR 2 PTS AND ... GOT IT! MAYBE EVEN MORE THEN ONCE?

2-point conversions aren't for running the score up - they're for getting one more point than an extra kick in order to gain an edge over the opponent and, if successful, force them to go for a 2-point conversion when they score in order to not be behind by a point afterwards.

If you are good at shoving the ball down an opposing team's throat when in the red-zone and can successfully get 2-point conversions fairly often, the other team is really put at a huge disadvantage because every time they score, they have to play a game of luck and pray that they can successfully get the 2 points as well.

YOUR NOT SEEING THE POINT FELLERS ... SHOULDN'T GO FOR 2 PTS WHEN UP BY THE SCORES THAT JIB HAS BEEN UP ON PEOPLE.

PRACTICING THE 1PT. CONVERSION MAY HAVE BEEN MORE BENEFICIAL TO THEM INSTEAD. IF YOU DON'T SEE THAT THEN SOMETHING IS WRONG!

I HEAR AND UNDERSTAND ABOUT GETTING 2PTS EARLY AND PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE OTHER TEAM.
BUT TO DO IT WHEN THE GAME IS BASICALLY OVER DOES NOTHING BUT ADD INSULT TO INJURY, WHEN KICKING WOULD HAVE SHOWED MORE SPORTSMANSHIP.

That's true that going for 2 points when a team is down really badly is a bit controversial, but I look at it this way: Exactly who's to blame for allowing the team to SCORE?

Allowing those 6 points is much worse than risking the 2 points afterwards, in my opinion.

In short: If you allow that team to score, you're pretty much ASKING for an extra 2-points. And if you can't stop them there in the red zone, that's another thing - their fault for allowing it!

It's either kick a wimpy field goal and get one extra point, or battle your way into the endzone and earn two extra points as a result.

Don't see how a field goal is any less threatening to the other team.. heck, you could argue that 6 points is enough once you're ahead by a large margin, so why not just kneel the ball instead of kicking a field goal!? Right? Just doesn't work that way - it's football, nobody gets away that easily.
